Video games have become a global phenomenon, captivating millions of players across different ages and cultures. From open-world adventures to fast-paced battle royales, the gaming industry continues to evolve with titles that dominate the charts year after year.
The Call of Duty franchise has always been a behemoth of the video game industry, but its popularity skyrocketed to all-new heights when the franchise launched a free-to-play, battle royale spin-off. Warzone has risen to become one of the most popular titles in the world in record time, which is why it made it to our list of the most-played games in 2025.
Rolling up its sleeves in the Battle Royale genre, Fortnite has been a game-changer in multiplayer gaming. Players parachute into an ever-shrinking combat zone, gathering weapons and resources to become the last person or team standing. Its cartoonish graphics, coupled with engrossing building mechanics, has made it a cultural phenomenon with players calling it a breath of fresh air.
What is the best game in the world
Before it was released in the fall of 2018, Red Dead Redemption II was one of the most hyped games of all time. As the successor game of the already successful and popular first original title, in many ways, Red Dead Redemption II was just destined to be great. And it sure delivered on that promise. The game is now widely considered the best video game ever made and also finds itself among the best-selling video games in history. It was developed by Rockstar Games, a video game studio owned by American video game company Take-Two Interactive.
I believe the defining characteristic that draws people to World of Warcraft is the freedom to play the game as you see fit. Like grouping with friends? The game gives you the ability to start with a crew and play through the entire game together, regardless of race or class. Want to make a go at it solo? Then take on quests alone. The higher level dungeons and raids demand teamwork, but with its stellar Looking for Group system, finding people to tackle a hard boss has never been easier. It’s always worth mentioning the warring factions of the alliance and horde. While choosing a faction seems a tad more meaningless than it used to, mainly because the factions basically are tasked with the same things, the old days of Crossroads and Tarren Mill are memories some players will have forever. – Mark Medina (Read Our Review)
Pokemon Go got us out of our seats and into the streets. Do you remember what the atmosphere around augmented reality technology was like in 2016? At best, it was wilfully dismissive, and at worst it was actively hostile. But then Pokemon Go changed all of that and has since given over 150 million would-be Pokemon trainers the opportunity to live out their dream of becoming the very best, like no one ever was. Developer Niantic captured the imagination of the general public and became a genuine cultural phenomenon, using a mobile devices’ GPS data to locate, capture, train, and battle Pokemon relative to your real-world location. The setup is inventive, the play is simple and social, and the end result is yet to be replicated.

Game 2 world series
How commanding is that lead? In all best-of-seven postseason series, teams taking a 2-0 lead have gone on to win the series 77 of 92 times (84%). Under the current 2-3-2 format, teams winning Games 1 and 2 at home have gone on to take the series 45 of 56 times (80%).
Dodgers: The Dodgers used all their high-leverage relievers in Game 1, but they should be available again on Saturday. The question for L.A. will be whether or not Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol will be able to pitch on back-to-back nights given they’re both coming off injuries. L.A. has plenty of coverage, if needed, with Ben Casparius, Landon Knack and Brent Honeywell on the roster.
After his 80th pitch, in the sixth inning, Yamamoto spun off the mound, clenched his fists and roared. He had just snuck a splitter past the bat of Aaron Judge for an inning-ending strikeout. Judge strode back to the Yankees dugout, shaking his head.

An equally formidable offense looms on the other side, as Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts barrel the Dodgers into the World Series for the first time since 2020. Ohtani, playing in his first postseason, reached base 17 times in the NLCS, setting a new franchise record. Betts, who entered the playoffs battling October demons, has swatted four home runs.
Dave Roberts had Walker Buehler hot and ready when he went to the mound to visit Blake Treinen after the Dodgers right-hander walked Jazz Chisholm Jr. with one out in the eighth inning, the Dodgers trying to hold onto a one-run lead for the title.
Treinen was at his usual limit, just over 20 pitches, when he got through the meat of the Yankees lineup in the bottom of the eighth, easing the burden on Walker Buehler, who came out of the pen — two days after starting Game 3 — to get the save in the bottom of the ninth.
For one brutal inning, the Dodgers did everything they could to maximize the damage. A dropped fly ball was Aaron Judge’s first error of the year, a throw in the dirt was Anthony Volpe’s low point in an otherwise good series, and Cole’s failure to cover first base was almost certainly his biggest mistake of the night. The Yankees gifted the Dodgers five unearned runs in the fifth, and then a catcher’s interference helped set the stage for their two-run rally in the eighth.
10:45 p.m. — Holmes does what he does best and gets Muncy looking after going down 3-2. The inning ends with two on including the winning run, and Wells is up for the Yankees with the bottom of the order on deck.
